How to create a LinkedIn Services Page

Are you a service provider?

Do you have a LinkedIn personal profile?

Did you know you can add a Services Page right into your personal profile? This article will show you how to create a services page on your LinkedIn Personal Profile.

Why should service providers be using LinkedIn?

Let’s find out

LinkedIn members are high- income earners, with the highest median household income of any platform’s user base.

And, LinkedIn members own more assets than users of other social platforms, indicating long-term buying power.

LinkedIn is a trusted social media platform and that reflects on YOUR brand and business.

How to add the Services Page to your Profile

On your profile Introductory Card, you may have the option inviting you to add Services. If you don’t see it, click on the Open To button:

Another option is to join the LI Services Provider Group on LinkedIn.

Now add up to ten services. You have to choose from a pre-populated list on LinkedIn:

The options are listed when you click on Add Service

Select from the right hand drop down arrow to see the sub categories. For example, here are sub categories under Accounting

Note – you do not have to add ten services. Only add those that you want to be known for.

In the next section, you have up to 500 characters to describe your key services. I suggest you keep this short and concise. Remember you will have your About Summary page to give more detail on your personal profile.

Add your work location. If you work remotely, make sure you tick the right box.

Reviews of your Services on LinkedIn

Your network can give you reviews for your work and you can choose whether or not you want to share those from others on LinkedIn. The tab options are All LinkedIn Members or Private to you.

By checking the box ‘Client Requests’ you are inviting connections to message you for free on your profile.

One of the best features on the Services Page is the ability to ask your clients to review your work. You are able to ask up to 20 of your network for a review.

The settings to ask for more reviews will renew in January 2022 – so you may only be able to ask for 20 every six months.

How to request a review of your services

Click on Invite to Review

Start typing your clients name into the search box. You can only request a review from someone who is in your network.

You are not able to personalise this message.

If someone doesn’t send you a review, you are able to remind them.

How to send a reminder message

If you have requested a review from a client, and they have not responded, you can either Withdraw the request or send a reminder.

To see who you are waiting for, click on the Reviews Status button

Click on Withdraw to remove the request or click on the Message button. If you click on ‘withdraw’ your credits will be reimbursed.

When you click on Message, LInkedIn pre-populates the message to your client:

You can edit this to personalise it.

Now your Service Page is complete you are invited to Share it by LinkedIn.

This can be shared either as a post or in a private message. I suggest you share it as a post when you first create it, in order to get more visibility with your network.
