From Hidden to Hired — Your LinkedIn Transformation Starts Now
This post accompanies Episode 6 of Let’s Talk LinkedIn with Louise Brogan — the final episode of the series. Listen below.
The Gap Between Knowing and Doing
You now know how to write a LinkedIn profile that gets you found. You know how to build a network of value. You know how to get over your fear of posting. You know the FAQ Framework. You know the COPE Method.
You know more about LinkedIn strategy right now than ninety percent of the people using the platform.
And yet — if I had to bet — there’s a tab open on your computer with your LinkedIn profile on it. And you still haven’t changed your headline.
That’s not a criticism. It’s just how this works. Information alone rarely creates change. Implementation does. And implementation is so much easier when you’re doing it with someone.
Sarah’s Story
Let me tell you about Sarah.
Sarah is a leadership consultant — brilliant at her job, genuinely respected in her field, regularly invited to speak at events. She had been on LinkedIn for eight years. Eight years.
And when she came to me, her profile still said she was a senior manager at a company she’d left five or six years ago. Her about section was four bullet points that read like a job application. She had under 500 connections, most of whom she’d collected at a conference years ago and had no real relationship with.
When I asked her why she hadn’t updated it, she said what I hear from almost everyone: I just don’t know what to say about myself. I don’t want to sound like I’m showing off. And honestly — I don’t have time.
Sarah joined the LinkedIn Accelerator. Here’s what happened.
In weeks one and two we completely rewrote her profile together. Her headline was transformed from a job title into something that told her ideal clients exactly what she could do for them. Her about section stopped being a list of achievements and started being a conversation with the exact person she wanted to work with — written so that when the right person read it, they thought this is exactly who I need.
Then we built out her network — deliberately and strategically, connecting with the right people rather than anyone who sent a request.
Then we created her content plan and started producing content together. In one of my recent cohort sessions we created carousel posts using NotebookLM — so yes, we use smart AI tools to make the process faster and easier, without losing the human voice that makes LinkedIn actually work.
And then something really interesting happened.
Sarah started showing up consistently, writing about leadership — sharing her expertise, asking questions, starting conversations. Other leadership coaches started engaging with her content. And I pointed out to her what that actually meant: when someone with a big following in your space engages with your post, their entire audience — full of potential clients — gets shown your content. You become the person on stage. Everyone else is in the audience listening.
That is what consistent LinkedIn activity builds. Not overnight. But steadily, reliably, over weeks and months.
What You Now Know
Let’s do a quick recap of everything this series has given you.
You know that your LinkedIn profile is your foundation — the thing that works for you when you’re walking the dog, making dinner, sitting in a car park waiting for your kid’s football training to end. When someone Googles you, finds you through AI, or is referred to you by a mutual contact — they go to your profile. And now you know how to make it work hard for you.
You know how to build a network of value. Not hundreds of random connections, but the right people — potential clients, strategic partners, industry peers, former colleagues who will talk about you when you’re not in the room.
You know how to get over the fear of posting. The silent majority are watching. Your next client has already read one of your posts and saved it without saying a word. They just need to keep seeing you show up.
You know the FAQ Framework — six questions, four subtopics, twenty-four post ideas, twelve weeks of content. Done.
And you know the COPE Method — one video, one hour, one month of content across LinkedIn, your newsletter, your blog and your social media.
You have the map. You genuinely do.
Why Knowledge Isn’t Enough
Here is the most important thing I’ve learned from a decade of teaching LinkedIn strategy.
The people who get results are not the ones who know the most. They are the ones who implement — consistently, with a little bit of accountability, and with someone who can look at their posts and make the small tweaks that make a significant difference.
Paralysis. Perfectionism. Inconsistency. Overwhelm. Not enough hours in the day. These are the things that stop people — not lack of knowledge. You have the knowledge. What moves the needle is doing it with someone.
What the LinkedIn Accelerator Is
The Accelerator is a three-week programme, maximum ten people, and we do this together.
Week one and two: we rewrite your LinkedIn profile as a group — and because it’s small, everyone learns from each other as well as from their own work.
We build your network strategy. We create your content plan. We implement the COPE Method and actually set it up so you leave with a system that works. I review and give live feedback on your actual posts during the sessions — you can literally watch the difference a small tweak makes in real time.
Every session starts with questions from the group. There are only ten of you. It is warm, practical, focused and genuinely effective.
This is not a course you buy and never finish. It is a room — a small, brilliant, warm, friendly room — full of people just like you, doing this together.
Your Final Action
Go to your LinkedIn profile right now. Not after you finish your coffee. Not tomorrow. Right now.
Look at your headline. Does it tell someone in five seconds what you do and who you help? Look at your last five posts — if someone landed on your profile cold, would they immediately understand what you’re about?
If the answer to either of those is no — start with the headline. Change it today. That one update is your starting point, and everything else builds from there.
And if you want help with the rest — you know where to find me.
Thank you for listening to Let’s Talk LinkedIn. I genuinely love talking about this stuff, and I love even more seeing people who have been hiding on LinkedIn suddenly start showing up, winning business, and building the kind of network that changes what’s possible for them.
That could be you. It really could.
